Green Mango Berry Smoothie
MID-DAY GREEN MANGO BERRY SMOOTHIE
Salads are great. I manage to eat a salad with almost every meal - even breakfast most days. Sometimes, however, salads get repetitive and boring to make, and to eat!
Because heathy diets incorporate similar ingredients for each meal, switching it up is essential... eating healthy DOES NOT have to feel like a chore.
This week I decided to change-up my regular spinach, cucumber and fruit salad that I normally have with my lunch and I turned it into a smoothie. For this I used:
-3/4 cups of fresh blueberries
-6 large strawberries
-1/2 cup of frozen mango slices
-2 handfuls of spinach
-1/2 of a cucumber
-1/2-1 cups of aloe juice or coconut milk
Throwing my salad ingredients together into a blender seemed unnatural at first, mixing fruits and vegetables, who does that? The truth is once blended together, the mango and berry flavors take over and you hardly notice the spinach and cucumber (but still reap their healthy benefits).
Besides a few seeds here and there, this smoothie blends well and tastes like a treat.
